Online shopping is increasingly popular in Scandinavia


More and more Scandinavians shop online because it is cheaper and more convenient.

The 30-45 year-olds dominate the e-trade, but the younger and older generations catching up quickly. Actually, 40 pct. of the +60-year-old Danes, Norwegians and Swedes now shop online.

Scandinavian consumers buy a wide range of products online, but electronics, books, clothes and CDs and movies are the most popular choices. The consumers shop online, because the products are cheaper and because it allows them to shop at all times and have the products delivered at home.

It is important to 9 out of 10 Scandinavian online shoppers that the overall price as well as product information and pictures are easy to find on the company website, and 50 pct. state that a fast delivery (within three days) is important to their purchase decision.

The information on Scandinavian e-trade is taken from two surveys carried out by postnord and TNS Gallup for Nets, respectively.
