United States, Puerto Rico – Hurricane Maria

21 September, 2017

Hurricane Maria pounded parts of the Dominican Republic with heavy rain and high 115 mph winds as it passed off its east coast as a Category 3 storm, after devastating Puerto Rico with a direct hit that caused severe flooding and cut power to the island. The USPS has reported that all postal facilities on Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are still closed. As soon as it is safe to do so, USPS will re-open postal facilities on the islands.
