Consequent of the Swiss referendum on the 24th September 2017 the Swiss VAT rates will be decreased from 8% to 7.7% on the 1st of January 2018.
If you’re regularly shipping orders to Switzerland, the new VAT rate brings minor changes. We’ve summarized the things one should look out for below:
- All companies using our Premium Goods offer and with their own VAT number will need to charge 7.7 % VAT instead 8 % to their customers as from 1.1.2018.
- All companies using our Premium Goods offer without their own Swiss VAT number, you will not have to take any actions, however VAT costs will reduce from 8 % to 7.7 %
- For all companies using our Products Standard Goods, Country-tracked Goods and Fully-tracked Goods to Switzerland the threshold for a VAT free delivery in Switzerland will rise form 62.40 CHF to 64.90 CHF. This means all your e-commerce parcels with a sales value including postage of 64.90 CHF and below will be delivered free of VAT charges to your customers.
