Leading with Science: Our Journey with SBTi Targets

In line with global efforts to combat climate change, we are committed to setting Science-based Targets (SBTs). This means: We will explore options to reduce our carbon emissions based on the latest climate science.

Carbon offsetting phase-out 

Global carbon emissions for 2024 will be offset, after which the program will be phased out.

Working with carbon conscious and still competitive transport suppliers

Asendia depends on transport providers for shipping, with over 95% of emissions coming from vehicles, primarily planes. While we don’t directly control these emissions, we are aiming to also work with carbon-conscious suppliers and carriers to reduce emissions across the supply chain.

Innovative Packaging Solutions for Sustainable Logistics (UK)

Our local operations in the UK are adopting solutions to reduce waste and promote sustainability in packaging and logistics. We have dedicated cardboard, paper and plastic Baling equipment, and all recyclable material is collected, sorted, and baled, ready for collection by our environment agency registered recycling partner.

Implementing Reusable Gaylords (US)

Large, durable containers designed for multiple uses. This initiative reduces the need for single-use packaging, minimizing waste and improving shipping efficiency.

International Post Corporation’s (IPC) Eco Pallet Boxes Projects (UK)

These reusable pallet boxes aim to reduce environmental impact by enhancing packaging reuse and cutting down material waste.

#LifeReTights (Italy)

This initiative recycles worn-out tights and hosiery, helping reduce landfill waste and promote a circular economy.

Renewable energy (UK)

All three UK sites are powered by 100% renewable electricity (wind, solar and hydro), and our Heathrow processing centre also uses 100% renewable gas.

Eco-friendly fleet (UK)

Half of our UK fleet of six vehicles is now electric.

Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)

Our long-term partnership supports critical humanitarian work globally.

Community impact

We host our own mapathons in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders, bringing Asendians from around the world together to work simultaneously on a shared mission: mapping areas with limited visibility to support humanitarian efforts

A portion of the company’s profit is shared with all employees each year to recognize the collective efforts that contribute to our success.

In partnership with Akteos, we are supporting management teams to navigate cultural diversity, improve communication, and enhance global business performance through global workshops and personalized profiling.

Diversity and Inclusion

We promote diversity and inclusion through initiatives like the UK Culture Champions programme and partnering with SG Enable by signing the Enabling Employment Pledge, to support disability inclusion and empowerment within our Asendia Singapore team.

Staff Engagement

We make efforts to promote employee wellbeing through local initiatives such as the health platform Asendia Me Cuida in Asendia Spain.

Enhancing Workplace Culture

We are committed to continuous improvement through local action plans, including management academies, remote working initiatives, and employee recognition programs.

Community Impact

We support Food Bank initiatives near our three UK locations, providing ongoing support to families in need and making a positive contribution to our local communities.
